RHINELANDER - It's not often we see 60-degree days in March in the Northwoods and many local people didn't let Monday go by without enjoying it.
In Rhinelander the sun was shining brightly and there was barely a cloud in the sky.
Afterschool, families filled Pioneer Park.
The kids chased one another in games of tag, climbed all over the playground equipment and took advantage of a perfect bike riding opportunity.
Many parents drank in the sun on the sidelines, but it was clear they were having just as much fun as the little ones.
"Absolutely, because it gives a chance for the kids to have fun with their parents and they have fun together doing sports and all that jazz," says Mother Lyndsey Umbarger.
"We ride bikes, we fly our kites, we had the kite out yesterday, so we were flying the kites, played a little baseball, that's right," says father, Tony Jones.
Many who were out and about also said it was worth losing that hour of sleep Sunday to get a little more sunshine.
Just about everyone we spoke with says they're enjoying this unexpected burst of warmth, but they're pretty sure it won't last.
Many people say even though it feels like spring has sprung this week, March weather is unpredictable in the Northwoods.
They say they wouldn't be surprised if we got hit with a late snowstorm.
