H1N1 Clinic Hours Changed Submitted: 11/16/2009
VILAS COUNTY - The Vilas County Health Department announces time changes for an upcoming H1N1 Vaccination Clinic.

The November 24th H1N1, or Swine Flu, vaccination clinic at the Vilas County Courthouse will now be held from four until seven pm.

The Health Department is asking that only people within specific target groups come to be vaccinated.



Those target groups now include people ages five through 64-years-old with chronic health problems, pregnant women, children ages six months to four years, household members and caregivers of infants under six months and healthcare workers with direct patient contact.

The Vilas County Health Department is also holding a similar clinic on Thursday November 19th at North Lakeland Elementary School from three until seven p-m.

Fire Burning in Popular Upper Michigan Wildlife Area Submitted: 05/25/2012

- Fire is scorching a popular wildlife area in Upper Michigan.

The wildfire burning in the Seney national wildlife refuge has now consumed more than three-thousand acres.

The wildfire in northern Schoolcraft county has been burning for five days now after a lightning strike Sunday night.

There have been no reported injuries or damage to structures and authorities have the blaze about 65 percent contained.

Bicyclist Killed in Marathon County is Identified Submitted: 05/25/2012

WAUSAU - A bicyclist who died after she was hit by a car in Mosinee had lost her husband in a bicycle crash just a few years ago.

A Wausau newspaper reports 44 year old Tammy Gass died Wednesday just miles from the spot where her husband was killed in 2008.

Brenda Sunby was with the Gass family Thursday and confirmed the death for the newspaper. The Marathon County Sheriff's Department hasn't released her name.

Gass was married to 41-year-old Gregg Bednorski, who died September 18th, 2008, after crashing his bicycle into a parked car.

Candidates for Governor Hold Their First Debate Tonight Submitted: 05/25/2012

- They've traded barbs from afar and you've certainly seen or heard the political ads for or against them.

Tonight Governor Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will meet head to head in the first of two debates before the June 5th recall election.

The debate is set to start at 8 o'clock tonight and run for an hour.

The debate will air live on Newswatch 12.

It's being hosted by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation.
