EAGLE RIVER - Sometime next month Jinelle Siergeij...better known as Jinelle Zaugg will find out if she'll be skating in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver as part of the U.S. Women's Olympic hockey team.
The Eagle River native was back in her hometown Tuesday talking with students at Northland Pines high school and the middle school. Jinelle trains in Blaine, Minnesota with Team USA and just returned home from Finland after playing in the 2009 Women's Four Nations Cup Tournament.
She had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Finland in the first game November 3rd. Jinelle says it's a blast playing along side some of the best women's hockey players in the world.
"We have five previous Olympians on our team right now." says Jinelle Siergiej. "A few of them have been to two Olympics. One has been to three Olympics. So just learning from them and what their experiences were and just taking lessons away from them."
Jinelle says Team USA will make two more cuts in December. If she survives those she'll make the Olympic roster.
