MADISON - More than 100,000 Wisconsin residents will be receiving letters asking them to verify their voter information.
The Government Accountability Board says the letters it's sending are required by state and federal law under the 2002 Help America Vote Act.
Those who receive the letters are being asked to call the board because some part of their voter information does not match their driver's license or state identification card.
Not responding to the letter will not affect a person's eligibility to vote.
Board director Kevin Kennedy says the letters an essential tool for protecting the accuracy of the voter lists.
