PHILLIPS - A Northwoods girl is Wisconsin's new National American Miss Pre-Teen.
Shelby Reukauf of Phillips beat out 60 other girls from across the state for the title at the competition in Madison last weekend.
Shelby says she is very honored to have won and very excited, "I'm so excited, I'm still having trouble sleeping at night."
Shelby competed against the other girls in several different categories including: casual wear, public speaking and most photogenic.
Shelby won the casual wear individual competition and came in second for most photogenic overall.
Her parents say they couldn't be prouder.
"It was a great experience and she did a great job, I was so proud of her getting up there and especially with her spokesmodel, when she spoke in front of 250 people," says her father Bill.
Her mother Kristin says, "we were so very proud. It was the chance of a lifetime and she earned it and she deserved it."
Shelby's parents say competing in the pageants has made her a more confident, outspoken young lady.
They also say the competition has made her much more active with volunteer work in her community.
Shelby will go on to compete against 49 other girls in the national competition this November in California.
