EAGLE RIVER - Earth Day might be over, but that's not stopping some local students from helping the environment and their neighbors. More than 300 students from Northland Pines High School went around Eagle River today to rake yards for the elderly and to do clean-up projects for organizations. The projects give students a break from the books to show the community how thankful they are for their support.
Ann Perry, a Science Instructor at NPHS, "I think the kids get a lot out of it. There's alot of ability to just get out and see the community members that support us. We did just pass a huge referendum, so just giving back to our community and I think our students see that and they see see they are a part of the community not just within the school but with the environment as well." This is the 6th year students have participated in the Earth Day Community Service Project.
