Broadband Survey Submitted: 03/27/2009
EAGLE RIVER - A committee working hard to help bring broadband internet service to the Northwoods is asking for your help.

The Grow North Broadband Access Committee is asking everyone in the Northwoods to find someway to log onto the internet and fill out a quick survey about internet access in the area.

According to the committee, the federal stimulus package is going to allocate 7-point-two billion dollars to create accessible high-speed internet in the U-S.

To make sure the money goes where it's supposed to in Wisconsin, the Office of Reinvestment and Recovery has set up a website survey through the Public Service Commission to create a map of where broadband is still needed.

The Grow North Committee encourages everyone in Vilas, Forest, Oneida, Langlade and Lincoln counties to find anway to get to a computer, whether it be going to a public library or a friend's house, and fill out this online survey.

You can also print and fax it to 608-266-3957, or print and mail it to Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 7854, Madison, WI 53707-7854.
