DENVER, COLORADO - Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle addressed the crowd at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday.
The Governor told the crowd, "I know Wisconsin will work hard. I know all of you will work hard and together we will elect a President as good as the people of our great country."
During his speech he told the crowd Arizona Sen. John McCain offers only failed Republican policies. He told delegates at the Democratic National Convention they need to revive the spirit of John F. Kennedy and move past eight years that favored the right and ignored everyone else.
He says Americans' dreams have grown further and further out of reach. The Governor also told the crowd about his recent visit to Merit Gear in Antigo.
Gov. Jim Doyle said, "Just this month I was at a small town facility in northern Wisconsin called Merit Gear which has a long history of making gear boxes. Most of them used to go in cars and trucks, but now they're largest and most highly engineered gears are turning inside the generators of windmills and they say business is booming. The boom at Merit Gear can happen at factories in towns everywhere but that will only happen if we have a President committed to investing in education, job training and low taxes for clean energy innovators."
Doyle says it took him only five minutes to decide to endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is expected to accept the Democratic nomination later this week.
McCain is the likely Republican presidential nominee.
