RHINELANDER - A local musician is ready to share his new album with a bigger audience.
Scott Kirby's harmony started at a young age.
He says, "7th grade playing electric bass and 8th grade jazz band, band throughout high school, along with everything else and probably the first professional gig I did was summer after junior year, playing with brass works."
Since then, Scott, from Rhinelander, worked on a few albums in Madison and Wausau. His most recent album, "Good Morning Jo," was an eye opening experience.
"The biggest version of the songs recorded, they sound great better than other stuff....I can't think of anything we could have done to get sounding better than they are."
Dan Cabel, the drummer in the album, says, "It's way cool, Scott's song writing is fantastic, the production is amazing."
But being successful in Rhinelander has had its bumps in a smaller road.
Scott says, "The biggest thing is you gotta play music that people will respond to because a lot of time around here, good to play music that helps them do that."
With big dreams of someday touring the country-
Scott says, "As soon as I can afford a decent car, get me all the places I need to go."-
....Scott says he's content in the tiny town he'll always call home.
Since the album's release in March, Scott Kirby has sold around 500 albums.
He would describe his music as acoustic, with a lot of electric sounds-
With a "cross between Dave Matthews, Bob Dylan and sprinkle Neal Young in there"- You've got Scott Kirby.
