Lakeland Union falls to Shawano
MINOCQUA - The Lakeland Union Thunderbirds hosted the Shawano Hawks tonight in a non conference game.

Defense ruled early on, but the T-Birds caught the turnover bug.

Quarterback Nick Peterson led his team on a great opening drive.

T-Birds had first and goal, but Peterson fumbles the ball at the goal line.

The T-Birds offense had 4 turnovers in the first half.

Shawano took full advantage. They turned two of the turnovers into scores.

They win 28-7.

"Reach a Child" donated six backpacks full of books to the Riverside Fire District in Schofield on Thursday morning.  Firefighters can hand out the books to children at the scene of emergencies.

EAGLE RIVER - On Thursday, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism awarded the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce a Joint Effort Marketing grant.

Chamber Executive Director Kim Emerson says she was thrilled the Chamber received the $5,000 check to promote the third annual SepTimber Ride.
