Harley museum highlights road tripsSubmitted: 05/12/2014
Story By Associated Press

MILWAUKEE - The Harley-Davidson Museum is highlighting the American road trip in a new exhibit this summer in Milwaukee.

It features photographs, film footage, slide shows and vintage travel memorabilia that the museum says depict the evolution of the road-travel landscape in the United States.

In a news release, Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davison Museum, says nearly everyone has a road trip memory and the exhibit speaks to those fond memories.

The exhibit is separated into three parts: one focuses on the birth of leisure travel in the 1930s, the second is about the ``Golden Era'' of travel after World War II and the last looks at the road trip in the modern era.

The exhibit called ``The American Road'' opens June 14 and runs through Sept. 1.
