Hodags shutout Medford in home opener
RHINELANDER - Despite the snow hitting the Northwoods Tuesday morning, the Hodag girls soccer team was in action. Rhinelander hosting Medford. First home game of the year for the Hodags - thanks to the rough weather this spring.

The game was scoreless until nine minutes into the game. Sidney Zettler made a great pass to Liz Krug. Krug made it count. Her goal gave Rhinelander a 1-0 lead.

Hodags shut out Medford 10-zip. Zettler added four goals, while Gabbie Millot also scored three goals.

RHINELANDER - A well known sex offender in this area will get out of prison again.  Albert Chagnon, 35, is set to be released into Oneida County on Tuesday.

Chagnon was convicted of child pornography possession in 2003.

He was released in 2014, but soon ended up under arrest again for using newspaper clippings of girls' pictures to make a booklet.  That booklet had more than 270 photos in it, many from the Lakeland Times.

LAKE TOMAHAWK - Some strong to severe storms rumbled through the Northwoods Friday.

Newswatch 12 went out to Lake Tomahawk for the video you see above.

Most of the damage there was minimal.

GREEN BAY - The forecast for Sunday's Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field is hot, sticky and far from frozen.

Records show the last time temperatures for a regular season game at Lambeau soared into the 80s was October 6, 1963 when the mercury reached 84 degrees. WLUK -TV says the forecast for the afternoon game against the Cincinnati Bengals calls for sunshine and a high of 86.

MADISON - Wisconsin elections officials are putting together a formal security plan in advance of next fall's election.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission plans to work together with federal, state and local elections officials on the plan to prevent any security breaches.

The move comes as federal investigators, and the Senate Judiciary Committee, investigate Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
