Woman accused of child abuse for applying bracesSubmitted: 04/04/2014
Story By Associated Press

WAUKESHA - A Waukesha woman is charged with charged with child abuse and practicing dentistry without a license.

Authorities say 36-year-old Noemi Aguilera was putting braces on children, using her living room as an office and unsterilized equipment.

A criminal complaint says a 13-year-old boy complained of pain and bleeding gums after Aguilera put braces on him. That prompted his mother to take him to a licensed clinic for an exam. The complaint says the licensed dentist told police the boy had cement underneath his gums.

WITI-TV (http://bit.ly/1ho7G48 ) reports prosecutors say Aguilera offered reduced rates for her services, which were to be paid in cash. Online court records did not list an attorney for Aguilera.
