Walker heads to Las Vegas for meetingSubmitted: 03/26/2014
Story By Associated Press

MADISON - Governor Scott Walker is headed to Las Vegas for a weekend meeting that's attracting a host of Republican 2016 presidential hopefuls.

Walker is scheduled to speak at the Republican Jewish Coalition spring leadership meeting at the Venetian resort, which is owned by billionaire Sheldon Adelson.

Walker is to speak on Saturday along with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is also expected to attend the meeting.

Adelson donated $250,000 to Walker in March 2012 when Walker was facing a recall election. Normal campaign limitations did not apply during that time, allowing Walker to receive huge checks that normally would be barred.

While Walker explores a 2016 presidential bid, he's seeking re-election this November against Democrat Mary Burke.

NORTHWOODS - We could see freezing rain in the Northwoods Sunday. If we do, leaders in Oneida County want people to be prepared.

The Oneida County Emergency Management director says it's hard to tell when the roads are slippery. So they want you to take your time on the roads and on the sidewalks.

"Freezing rain, a lot of times you can't tell that it's actually frozen. The ground is frozen," said Oneida County Emergency Management director Ken Kortenhof. "So even when you're walking on your sidewalks, stuff like that, be careful not to slip. Make sure if you have salt you can salt your sidewalks so you don't have problems there as well."
