MADISON - Half a billion dollars in tax cuts will become law today.

Governor Scott Walker will sign his tax cut bill at a farm in Shawano County.

He'll sign the legislation at Horsens Homestead Farms in Cecil.

The bill gives a large chunk of the state's 977-million dollar surplus to property and income tax cuts.

It sends 406-million to technical colleges to reduce their property tax hit.

Income taxes will be cut by nearly 99-million.

For taxpayers, the measure means a 131-dollar tax reduction for a typical home.

The average worker will save 46-dollars in annual income taxes.

Democrats criticized the bill as an election year gimmick.

Walker faces re-election in November.
