Story By Newswatch 12 Newsteam

MERRILL - A Merrill woman sits in jail, accused of running from the police drunk, with a teenager in the car.

A Lincoln County Sheriffs deputy was cruising down Joe Snow Road, south of Merrill, when a car went blasting by at 86 miles an hour.

When the deputy turned to stop the car, it sped up to over 100 miles an hour, and almost went off the road twice.

The chase stopped when the driver suddenly pulled into a driveway.

The 41 year old woman who had been driving got out quickly.

The deputy drew his tazer to hold her until help arrived.

The front seat passenger, a 41 year old Merrill man, was also arrested for violating his probation by drinking.

A second passenger was just 13 years old.

The driver was booked into jail for recklessly endangering safety, and fleeing an officer, as well as driving drunk with a passenger under 16.
