Iron River native still waiting for Olympic callSubmitted: 01/23/2014
Story By Joe Dufek

IRON RIVER, MI - Not all of the Olympic athletes have been selected for Team U-S-A.

Nick Baumgartner from just outside of Iron River, Michigan is trying to return
to the Olympic games.

He's competing at the X-Games in Aspen Friday.

Baumgartner competes in the snowboardcross. He won the gold at the X-Games back
in 2011.

He made the Olympic team in 2010 in Vancouver.

He's competing against Seth Wescott for the final spot this year. He's a 2-time
Olympic champion. But he's had to come back from several injuries. That
includes a torn ACL in his left knee, a broken tibia. He's also still
recovering from a torn patella tendon.

A final decision could come this weekend after Friday's race. Baumgartner is
just trying to focus on what he can control.
