Frack sand company fined for air violationsSubmitted: 12/27/2013
Story By Associated Press

WOOD COUNTY - The state orders a Wood County frack sand processing facility to pay 80-thousand dollars in fines and other costs.

Completion Industrial Minerals, LLC is accused of violating state air pollution control laws.

The state claims the company failed to update its construction permit application.

That was after changes that happened during work at its Marshfield facility.

The complaint also accuses the company of continuing construction after the permit expired.

Other concerns included failing to install an air emission monitor.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced the judgment Thursday against the Fort Worth, Texas company.
