TAYLOR COUNTY - A hunter died after he was struck by a car.

It happened around 5 pm Friday in Taylor County.

Some hunters were standing on or near County Line road near the border of the Town of Aurora and Town of Pershing.

A car driving at a high rate of speed hit two of the hunters.

A 52-year-old man from Illinois died at the scene.

A 53-year-old man, also from Illinois, was injured.

He was taken by Life Link helicopter to Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

The 42-year-old driver from Sheldon was taken by Mayo helicopter to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
