MADISON - Obama's chief economic adviser to speak in Madison.

President Barack Obama's chief economic adviser is speaking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jason Furman's lecture on Monday evening is titled, ``Fiscal Policy: Achievements, Opportunities & Challenges.''

Furman is the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. He also served as the economic policy director for the Obama campaign.

He was previously a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he worked on proposals to create economic growth. He holds a Ph.D. in economics and a master's in government from Harvard University and a master's degree from the London School of Economics.

EAGLE RIVER - After a two-year hiatus the Eagle River Ice Castle returned back. Many people gathered to watch Sunday while firefighters added some finishing touches. 

Workers placed decorative ice sculptures on the top corners of each castle tower. Firefighters also started to string lights around the castle.

WAUSAU - The South Area Fire and Emergency Response District responded to a fire at a Rib Mountain Sam's Club Saturday.

Firefighters got the call around 2:30 p.m.

According to Captain Doug Jennings, the fire was on the roof of the store. Jennings says a heating unit caught fire.

Everyone was evacuated and no one was hurt.

PHELPS - An Eagle River paramedic just got home from her overnight shift last Friday when emergency tones went off.  The call was for an explosion at the Phelps Cast foundry.  Shirley Jesse knew her nephew, Ken Martinez, worked there.  She sat hoping for her phone to ring.

"I waited for my nephew to call me and he didn't call and he didn't call, and then I got up and I just left," Jesse said.

Jesse says she drove quickly to the scene, expecting the worst.  Police say a furnace exploded while Martinez was standing right in front of it.  Martinez poured metal at the foundry for three years.  Shirley Jesse found the ambulance her nephew was in and opened the door.
