Police find man who handed out toys at schoolSubmitted: 11/13/2013
WAUSAU - Wausau police identified a man dressed like Santa who handed out Beanie Baby toys to children at an elementary school.

Wausau police say the man was a Salvation Army bell ringer who works dressed in a Santa suit.

But he won't be asked back to ring.

According to police, the bell ringer hands out Beanie Babies to people who make donations.

As he was walking home Monday, children on the Franklin School playground saw him in a Santa suit and called him over to the fence.

Police say the man handed the children some Beanie Babies.

Media reports police say Salvation Army officials have confirmed that the man was a bell ringer.

The Salvation Army's Lt. Jacob Tripp tells the media the man rang bells on Monday but would not be welcome back to do it again.
