STEVENS POINT - One race, for a chance to swim in Madison. That's the pressure that was on swimmers around the state at sectionals today.

What a day in the pool for Tomahawk. Freshman Lauren Hilt broke 2 GNC records last week and improved on both those times. In the 50 yard free, Lauren took first in 24.36 seconds and then the 100 yard freestyle. Hilt is your section champ again with a winning time of 53.39 seconds. Her teammate Morgan Weber took second just missing the state qualifying time.

But both ladies are also part of 2 Hatchet relay teams who are going to state. In the 200 free Lauren and Morgan took first with Michaela Galganski and Baylee Dallman. And in the 400 free they'll be competing in Madison with Mikhayla Kleich and Katherine Russell.

The Tomahawk Ladies are on cloud nine.

Lakeland sophomore Emily Kubisiak also punched her ticket to state. Emily is the section winner in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute 10.52 seconds. Kubisiak is proud to be representing the T-Birds.
