NORTHWOODS - You can keep your home safe, and help the environment in an easy way this Saturday.

Locations across the Northwoods will join in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Unwanted and unused prescription drugs can be harmful to waterways if flushed down the toilet or put in a landfill.

Getting rid of prescription drugs properly also helps make sure they don't end up in the wrong hands.

At the last Take-Back Day, people in Wisconsin got rid of 45,000 pounds of drugs.

Police departments in Rhinelander, Three Lakes, Antigo, Lac du Flambeau, and Merrill will collect the drugs from 10am to 2pm.
