Wis. DNR plans hearings on fishing tourney rulesSubmitted: 10/16/2013
Story By Associated Press

MADISON - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is planning to hold public hearings over the next weeks to gather input on possible changes to the state's fishing tournament rules.

The revisions include doing away with permit requirements for season-long tournaments; not counting small permitted tournaments toward a water body's tournament limit; increasing the maximum number of participants in ice-fishing tournaments; and explicitly recognizing Minnesota tournament permits on border waters.

The hearings are set for Oct. 30 in La Crosse, Nov. 4 in Fitchburg and Nov. 6 in Oshkosh.
