PRENTICE - A new location for a company is boosting business and the economy in a small Price County village.

The G.A. Miller Company sells parts for farmers, truckers and loggers. Now, they won't have to travel long distances to get the parts they need.

The company opened a newer and larger facility along Highway 13.

Owners Kristin and Bill Reukauf wanted to be closer to their Northwoods customers, giving them the chance to keep jobs in their community.

"I feel it's impacted Prentice by being able to keep our talent local and in the area," says Kristin Reukauf. "A lot of times, people will move out of the area for different jobs. We like to keep people local so that we can support our community and keep them here."

G.A. Miller opened the doors to their new facility four months ago.

Jerry Morrow, an employee for the hydraulics company, helps to build the hoses for the truckers.

The company's 8,000-part inventory makes the process easier.

"Not too many people realize that right here in Prentice we can take care of anything a person would need in the area of hydraulics-fittings, hoses," says Morrow. "We can build them while they wait. We have a large inventory so it's not necessary to drive a long ways away to get your hoses repaired."

Right now, the company has eight employees but they're hoping to add more.

The company has been in Prentice since 1969.
