LA CROSSE - An Oktoberfest celebration in La Crosse gets out of hand.

La Crosse police are investigating some acts of vandalism during the opening weekend of the city's annual Oktoberfest.

At least two cars were flipped upside down by vandals in the area around the university campus.

Pamela Strittmater is president of the La Crosse Area Apartment Association.

Strittmater saw a car flipped and witnessed other vandalism throughout the night Saturday, including damage to landscaping.

The nine-day Oktoberfest began last Friday.

Organizers have decided to trim the festival to four days next year.
