Three local men arrested in sweeping child sex crime stingSubmitted: 09/23/2013

WAUSAU - Sheriff's departments from across central Wisconsin pulled off a child sex crime sting last weekend.

Departments from Door County all the way to Marathon County arrested 14 people. The takedown was called "Operation Black Veil II". It lasted from last Wednesday through Saturday.

Police trolled Craigslist for people trying to sexually lure children.

Three of the men arrested are from Marathon County.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department and Wausau Police arrested Robert L. Spreeman, Pravong Colin Thongdara and Shayd C. Mitchell for child enticement, and using a computer to commit a sex crime.

WISCONSIN - MADISON, Wis. (AP) -  A new report from the American Society of Civil Engineers says Wisconsin will have $7 billion in drinking water and wastewater infrastructure needs in the next 20 years.

CRANDON - Dogs, wolf-dog hybrids, and horses seized in Forest County in March remain in the care of the ASPCA.

The animal welfare organization says it's keeping them in a sheltered environment.

The ASPCA and Forest County sheriff's deputies seized dozens of animals from the Crandon property of Patty Kirker on March 17.

Kirker is now charged with 156 criminal counts related to animal mistreatment.
