RHINELANDER - A medical emergency likely sent a driver over the median and into a 25-foot-deep valley Monday afternoon.

Emergency responders were called to Highways 8 and 47 in Rhinelander around 3:30 in the afternoon.

A deputy on the scene told us the car was traveling west on Highway 8.

Deputies don't think speed or alcohol were involved.

Instead, they blame a medical event from the driver.

They don't think the driver was seriously injured.
