Gordon's Truck Series back for more in CrandonSubmitted: 08/29/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

CRANDON - Labor Day weekend for many folks in the Northwoods means fun, family, and friends. In Crandon, it also means truck racing.

The TORC or the Off-Road Championship series returns to Crandon.

Final preparations were made on the track and the trucks Thursday.

Around 20,000 fans over three days of racing are expected at Crandon Off-Road Raceway.

Action gets underway Friday.

Head-lining Friday's action, Robbie Gordon's Stadium Super Trucks series.

The circuit's debut in Crandon was last year. Five trucks raced then. This weekend, ten trucks will be burning rubber. Gordon, who has raced in NASCAR in the past, likes how Northwoods fans reacted to last year's showing.

"We had fun last year," Gordon explains. "I think running on the short track is good for the fans because it puts all of the action in front of them."

The SST series runs Friday night at 6:30pm.
