UPDATE: Body found in Langlade CountySubmitted: 08/23/2013
Story By Newswatch 12 team

ANTIGO - A body found just west of Antigo does not appear to be a victim of of violence.

Late yesterday, someone walking in a wooded area came across a badly-decomposed body.

It was on private hunting property between West First Avenue and Hazel Road.

Friday afternoon, Langlade County Coroner Larry Shadick told Newswatch 12 preliminary results from a forensic autopsy make him believe the body is an elderly Antigo man who hasn't been seen since this Spring.

Investigators found an ID belonging to the missing man.

There won't be any positive identification until a forensic dentist in Madison can compare dental records.

That might take a week or more.

Shadick says the missing man often rode a bicycle to get around, and a bike was found near the corpse.
