Former Phelps School District employee arrested for child pornographySubmitted: 08/19/2013

- A former janitor for the School District of Phelps faces 78 counts of possession of child pornography.

Someone from the school district told the Vilas County Sheriff's Department an employee was visiting pornographic websites.

The Sheriff's Department initiated an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Today Vilas County Sheriff's deputies arrested 61-year-old Richard Buell.

The case has been referred to the Vilas County District Attorney.

"In my nine years, I've had somebody show up once," Hartman said.

But it's a job she knows hundreds of people count on her to do and get right.

"There's always pressure, yes," Hartman said.

HAZELHURST - A Northwoods landmark will be demolished by the end of the year.

The "T-Bird Country" bridge in Hazelhurst has was built in 1938. 

The bridge is part of the Bearskin State Trail, but the DOT says the bridge is dangerous because it's not tall enough.
