RHINELANDER - Last year, the Hodag football team made the playoffs for the first time in 23 seasons.

This year the expectations are to return and maybe even make some noise.

But it's going to be a tough road. Rhinelander will have a new quarterback this year. None of the reserves from last season are back.

Rhinelander will take part in a scrimmage at Wausau West high school Friday morning. They'll open the year August the 23rd at Superior.

The Hodags enjoyed the taste of playing int he playoffs last year. And their gearing up for more.

"We've been saying all season, 'We want some mo'," senior fullback and nose guard Connor Johnson explains. "We want some mo playoffs. We did it once, we can do it again."

"It's great to put on the pads and hit some people," senior offensive and defensive lineman Bryce Bilogan adds. "We don't quit. wee want to keep pushing to get those extra yards."

Head coach Jim Moore sees alot of potential.

"If we can stay healthy, we've got some big backs and a very solid offensive line," Moore says. "We feel we can definitely move the football."
