Story By Marisa Silvas

RHINELANDER - It started as an idea last summer, but now, the Northwoods Derby Knockouts are on a roll. If you haven't seen the high-energy contact sport of Roller Derby, you're missing out.

Last night the Knockouts hosted the River Valley Roller Girls of Wausau. This was their 4th bout of the year and it brought out a big crowd.

Giving to the community is also important to the ladies. A portion of ticket sales will go toward Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Even though derby is still new to the area, everyone involved has fallen in love with the sport.

The Knockouts fell to Wausau 273- 130. Their next home bout is September 21st at the Eagle River Ice Arena.
