Comments sought on management of Vilas County marshSubmitted: 08/09/2013
Story By Associated Press

MADISON - The state Department of Natural Resources wants to know how you think a Vilas County marsh should be managed.

The master plan for the 4,800-acre Powell Marsh Wildlife Area just outside Manitowish Waters is getting an update.

The property includes an 18-hundred-acre wildlife refuge that's closed to hunting in the fall.

The agency has scheduled an open house on the marsh plan for August 24th at the Manitowish Waters Community Center.

The public will get a chance to discuss how the marsh should be managed.
