MANITOWISH WATERS - The driver killed in a crash near Manitowish Waters came from that community.

Vilas county sheriff's deputies say 20 year old Ezekiel Jonas died in the wreck early yesterday morning.

A pickup driven by Jonas slammed into a tree as he was going down Powell Road near Alder Lake Road.

The crash happened shortly after one yesterday morning.

The jaws of life had to be used to get Jonas out of the truck.

The Vilas County Coroner's Office declared him dead about an hour after the crash.
