Wisconsin restaurateurs win Food Network competition in WausauSubmitted: 07/22/2013
Story By Hayley Tenpas

WAUSAU - Local restaurateurs showcased their talents on national television.

Now you can eat the food featured on the show.

Last night's episode of "food Court Wars" on the Food Network pinned two Wausau entrepreneurs against each other.

The winners open their restaurant, Casual Joe's in the Wasuau Center Mall.

In the episode two teams battled for a food court location.

The winner gets to stay in the mall, rent free for one year.

Casual Joe's competitors Sarah Smith and Tyler Sailsbery are both from Whitewater.

They hope people appreciate their secret ingredient.

"Our secret ingredient and I know this is corny, but it's love. We researched, we use some chipotle, and we definitely use some chipotle to highlight some of those smoky notes," said Smith.

Carlie Peterson and Briana Shidell's team- Carlie and Company didn't win.

But, Peterson's continuing to work with Casual Joe's as an assistant manager.

Casual Joe's features Wisconsin classics like cheese curds and brats.

They also have beef brisket, pulled pork and BBQ.
