MINOCQUA - When you hear stick, mask and goal you may think of hockey. But there is a similar sport gaining popularity that you can play in the summer and a group in Minocqua is trying to spread the word.

Will Jeffrey founded the Northwoods Lacrosse Company and is offering camps and clinics to help the sport grow in Northern Wisconsin.

Today several members of the Minocqua Aqua-Bats and their friends took the field to learn lacrosse and play in a friendly game. Jeffrey held a clinic yesterday for 5th and 6th graders to teach the basics.

He played collegiately and wants others to have the same opportunity.
