MANITOWISH WATERS - Wisconsin can be known for its beer brewing history.
But to one Northwoods organization, it's the combination of beer and wine that puts it on the map.
The Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters will host "Wine in the Woods" and "Beer by the Bog" Saturday.
People can sip spirits and listen to live music.
The event helps the center raise money for summer programs.
Organizers like Sarah Johnson hope they can help connect others to the Northwoods.
"This beautiful area that we all love and really kind of touches them in a different way and allows them to appreciate the area in a different way," Johnson said. "Then it can maybe help them support the area in a different way."
Wine and beer will be auctioned off.
The selection includes everything from local spirits to exotic European wines.
There will also be pizza from local restaurants.
"It's a wonderful casual evening, it's a great event, it's a great place to get out to enjoy and hopefully people get to know a bit more about the Discovery Center when they are here," Johnson said.
WAUSAU - Police in Wausau expect to forward forgery charges to the Marathon County District Attorney against four people after finding counterfeit money in the area.
Patrick J. Eppolite Jr., 22; Michael A. Beck, 27; Jeremy J. Hess, 36; and Amanda M. Bender, 32, are currently in jail on probation holds, but investigators believe they're connected to some counterfeit $20 bills in the area, according to the Wausau Police Department.
