Bucks take teen from Greece with No. 15 pickSubmitted: 06/27/2013
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks have taken 18-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo, a 6-9 forward from Greece, with the 15th overall pick in the NBA draft.

The Bucks had been projected to select a guard Thursday night to replace shooting guard Monta Ellis, the team's leading scorer last season, who opted out of his contract to become a free agent. In addition, starting point guard Brandon Jennings is a restricted free agent.

Instead, they went with Antetokounmpo, who averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for Filathlitikos in Greece's second division.

The Milwaukee Bucks have selected Providence guard Ricky Ledo with their second pick and 43rd overall in the NBA draft.

Ledo, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, did not play a single minute at Providence last season because he was rated a partial qualifier by the NCAA, although he did practice with the team.

It appears the Bucks did not address their needs with the backcourt. Shooting guard Monta Ellis, the team's leading scorer last season, opted out of his contract to become a free agent. In addition, starting point guard Brandon Jennings is a restricted free agent, as is reserve guard J.J. Redick.
