Temporary Highway Closure in Marathon Co.Submitted: 06/23/2013

MADISON - Drivers in Marathon County will need to find an alternate route for part of Wisconsin 98.

The highway will be closed from 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, until 7:00 a.m. July 2nd. Crews will be reconstructing the railroad crossing at the intersection of Wisconsin 98 and Wisconsin 13.

Highway 98 will be closed from 73, 39 and 13.

The Department of Transportation warns it could take longer if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Marathon County Deputies were looking for someone wanted in Clark County after a gun was fired.

The car that person was in was later spotted between Athens and Edgar.

While police were waiting for backup, the man stopped the car and ran into the woods.

Deputies and a police K9 tracked the man for close to an hour.

They eventually found him in the back of a semi-trailer.

The man was armed with a hand gun.

Deputies told him to drop the gun, but he shot himself instead.

Outside agencies will be brought in to handle the investigation.

The man's name has not yet been released.
