Swimmers brave cold for good causeSubmitted: 06/22/2013
Story By Marisa Silvas

MINOCQUA - Cold water didn't stop swimmers from diving in to the 2nd annual Minocqua Island Swim Challenge.

ęCheck out the familiar face. Former sports director Matt Thompson was on hand representing Ministry Health Care.

80 people braved the elements for a good cause. The race was an open water, one-mile, course from Torpy Park.

The money raised today will go to the Oneida County Dive Team who assist people in water related emergencies. The team is made up of 13 divers who keep our residents and visitors safe every year and they're proud to have such a unique event.
