Special Holiday Start at Eagle River SpeedwaySubmitted: 05/26/2013
Story By Marisa Silvas

EAGLE RIVER - To cap off a full day of exciting racing, Eagle River Speedway opened their gates for the season.

The special Sunday night start gave many fans the chance to check it out.

First out of the gate were the junior sprint cars. These are the youngest drivers and they still top out at speeds around 60 mph. Two time track champ Ty Springer took the checkered flag.

In the street stock class, Eagle River's Ryan Glembin took an early lead and held on for first place. It was Ryans first time racing streets at the track.

And the fastest cars of the night, the Micro Sprints took off next. Jake Reif set a track record for speed last year and crossed the finish first tonight.

They'll return to Tuesday night racing next week.
