Hodags Girls Soccer claims Perfect Conference SeasonSubmitted: 05/23/2013

RHINELANDER - The Hodag Girls Soccer Team were singing "We are the Champions," Thursday night in Rhinelander. And why not. They finished the regular season by claiming the Great Northern Conference championship. Rhinelander defeated Medford 4-0.

The Hodags went undefeated in the conference. In fact, they didn't even allow a goal in conference play.

Thursday night, the Hodags were treated to a parade through downtown Rhinelander. It's a great way to end the regular season.

"We had two goals," said Hodags coach Dan Millot. "One was to win the Great Northern Conference Championship. Two was to make sure no one scored on us in conference play. We accomplished both goals tonight."


Rhinelander is (10-3) overall.

Hodags hosts Wausau East in regionals next Thursday.

On Tuesday, they gave students a crash course in being an adult.

Rhinelander High School seniors traded in their books for a game of life on Tuesday.

"Life can give you a lot of stuff very quickly. I managed to hit both a deer, rear-end a car, and hit snow bank in the same two-week period," said Rhinelander High School senior Dustin Simon, discussing a financial simulation in which he participated.
