Rhinelander, Merrill get D1 Softball Matchups; Antigo advances in D2Submitted: 05/16/2013

- Opening round of softball regionals began Thursday. The Division One bracket was released on Thursday. Rhinelander is a #5 seed in their regional. The Hodags play at #4 Wausaw East for their first game, Tuesday May 21. The winner faces #1 Stevens Point Thursday May 23.

Also in D-1 Merrill earned a #3 seed. Merrill will host #6 Wausau West Tuesday. #2 D.C. Everest has a home game against #7 Marshfield.

In Division Two on Thursday, Antigo shutout Northland Pines 27-0 in 5 innings. Pitcher Kara Wilhelm pitched the shutout and hit a 2-run homerun for Antigo. The Red Robins face Mosinee Tuesday May 21.
