Tomahawk puts up 20 runs in Double HeaderSubmitted: 05/10/2013

TOMAHAWK - Tomahawk hosted Northland Pines in a double header. The Hatchets took the first game.

In game 2, we pick it up in the bottom of the third. Pines down 4-1 with a runner on second. Brandon Wallace sends one to left and Jacob Schlitt comes in to score to make it a 2 run game.

Top 5, a big inning for Tomahawk. Runners on the corners for Jon Nyberg. He gets it to fall in right and Kevin Bolder crosses home to put the Hatchets up 5-2.

Later in the inning, Aaron Leonard shoots one to center to bring in another run. That was part of a 5 run inning and Tomahawk would go on to win 9-2, the final.

TOMAH - After the death of several veterans, a review of the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center finds "systemic failures".

A staff report by the Republican majority of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee was released Today.

It found the VA inspector general's office discounted evidence and testimony.

The report says the office also needlessly narrowed its inquiry.....and has no standard for measuring wrongdoing.

The report says the office's failure to publish results of an investigation into the Tomah facility "compromised veteran care."

It also says a culture of fear and whistleblower retaliation continues at the facility.

VA inspectors in 2014 found that doctors were over-prescribing painkillers.

The deaths of three patients remain under investigation.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police are looking for two suspects who were in a stolen vehicle that crashed into a car and killed two people, including a young boy.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims Tuesday as 46-year-old Danielle Triggs and 8-year-old Taeshawn Griffin. Triggs died in Friday's crash. Griffin died Sunday at Children's Hospital.
