Young Arbor Vitae Disc Golfer Looks to ShineSubmitted: 05/06/2013

ARBOR VITAE - Big things happening at Brandy Lake Disc Golf Course in Arbor Vitae. The first Brandy Lake Shoot Out is this weekend.

One of the top players competing is just 14-years old.

This is Adam Hammes of Arbor Vitae. He's competing in the Advanced Men's Division.

His father played Disc golf in the past. That's how Adam became interested in the sport.


About 100 of the top pro and amatuer players are expected to compete in the event.

Adam doesn't feel intimidated facing people with alot more experience.

On-line registration is open until 6pm Friday. To register, click on the link below. You can also register in person Friday and before Saturday morning's opening round begins.

ANTIGO - In a week, the Christmas trees of Antigo will burn in a huge bonfire.

Community volunteers will burn the trees next Monday in the annual city event. This Monday, those trees disappeared from the streets.

City workers rounded up, crushed, and hauled away Christmas trees from curbs all across the city.
