Estrada wild, Brewers lose 10-1 to CardinalsSubmitted: 05/05/2013
Story By Associated Press

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke put it very bluntly after his team lost 10-1 Sunday to the St. Louis Cardinals.

It was the Cardinals' first four-game sweep of the Brewers, Coming into the series, the Brewers trailed the first-place Cardinals by 1 { games in the National League Central. Following the win on Sunday, the Cardinals' lead jumped to 5 1/2 games.

``We played a bad series,'' he said. ``We don't do it too often at home.''

Marco Estrada (2-2) lasted 3 1-3 innings for the Brewers, who have lost five in a row. He gave up eight runs on six hits and had a career high six walks.

Estrada said it was likely the worst outing of his big league career.

``I had no idea where the ball was going,'' he said. ``I made a lot of pitches in the second inning. I couldn't find it after that. It was one of those outings where I had no clue what I was doing out there.''

Allen Craig drive in four runs and Matt Holliday homered for the Cardinals, who have won six straight, their most since taking eight in a row from July 11-21, 2010. It was the first time the Cardinals have four in a row from the Brewers, who moved to the NL and have been in the Cardinals' division since the 1998 season.

``It makes it awfully tough when you try to get out a big league hitter and a very good club that we are facing when you can't throw the ball where you want to,'' Roenicke said.

EAGLE RIVER - Board President Julie Paez says opening the center took a lot of community involvement.

"A group of likeminded citizens got together and started the project with the Eagle River Revitalization Program. They kind of started it, kept working on it, and then slowly the board got bigger and bigger, and started programing throughout the community," Paez said.

Organizers were using the other local businesses for studio space, but that will change.

"The whole time we were looking to find a place for us so we could really fulfill our dream, which is to bring more people downtown to Eagle River, help revitalize and sustain downtown Eagle River, and bring something else here to the Northwoods," Paez added.
