RHINELANDER - A local four year old made one of the biggest sacrifices a four year old can make to help his friend.

When Hank Kowieski learned his friends dad had Leukemia, he told his parents he wanted to sell some of his toys to raise money.

So Saturday they had a rummage sale to do just that.

"A four year old coming to tell you he wants to sell some of his toys that he has for people, I'm so proud of him, I'm proud of his brother Brody and his friend Carter and just people that have helped out," Hank's father, Brad Kowieski said.

"Four year old's are showing the adults of what we can do as people and it warms the heart."

What they weren't expecting was for the word to spread so quickly.

Many donations came from out of town.

"We got a lot of support from people out of town, all the way from Marquette to local people around Rhinelander that were just touched by the fact that they knew we had a son that was doing this," said Kowieski.

"They had people who had lost to cancer. So they sent checks. We had checks from Florida, we had checks from Michigan."

Hank raised more than five hundred dollars.
