LOUISVILLE, KY - The Kentucky Derby is considered the Superbowl of Horse Racing. It's the first leg of the Triple Crown.

Antigo native D. Wayne Lukas is one of the sports' legendary trainers.

He will have 2 colts racing in Saturday's Derby.

That makes 47 Derby starters, the most by any trainer in the history of the Derby.

Both are longshots.

This is "Oxbow" is at 30-1, starting from the #2 spot.

And "Will Take Charge" is at 20-1. That horse will start in the #17 position. 19 horses in total will race.

Lukas has 4 Derby victories, the last was in 1999. If the 77-year old earns a win, he'll be the oldest trainer ever to do so.

Lukas likes how Oxbow stacks up with the field.

"Well, I think Oxbow's tough," Lukas explained. "I think he's a very competitive horse. I think he'll get he'll get into it and do what he can. I think he'll go to the well, so to speak. He'll give you everything he's got."

Orb and Verrazano are the favorites, each at 4-1.

The Kentucky Derby can be seen live on Newswatch 12 on Saturday. Coverage begins at 3pm. The race is set to begin at approximately 5:25pm.
