Law License Suspended for Lac du Flambeau AttorneySubmitted: 05/03/2013
Story By WJFW News Team

MADISON - A Lawyer from Lac du Flambeau who failed to follow the rules loses his right to practice law.

The state supreme court has suspended the law license of Barry LeSieur, effective May 20th.

The court found LeSieur had not followed the requirements of a previous disciplinary case.

LeSieur had been convicted multiple times of drunk driving.

In 2010, a number of conditions were put in place for him to be able to continue to practice law.

A referee complained LeSieur did not meet those conditions, and the Supreme Court agreed.

LeSieur can get his law license back.

Among other things he would have to allow release of some medical records related to alcohol treatment, and undergo an independent evaluation by an addiction psychiatrist.

He would also will have to pay costs related to the discipline case of nearly $9,000.
